Special Point #15 – marriage and sex in the afterlife

The leaders and teachers of Islam come up with some doosies!  In the following video, this Imam says that Muslim men will receive “up to 19,604 women in Paradise”.  Really?  What will they do with them?  Friends?  Lovers?  What’s the point?  And what do Muslim women get?

In the video below, be sure to note the part about men being joined with their wife in the afterlife (and, of course, the god of Islam allows up to four wives per man and all these relationships continue into the Muslim afterlife).  The continuance of “man and wife (wives)” will be discussed from a Biblical perspective after the video.

Did you catch the part where the guy can’t even get his own teaching material straight?  He said there are four types of women in paradise, then clarifies it back to three.  Ridiculous!  And funny.

Now let’s get serious about what God (of the Bible) tells us.

The Sadducees, trying to trick Yeshua (Jesus of the Bible) into making a mistake with His teachings, approached Him with this subject and asked:

“Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother’s name.’ Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children, so his brother married the widow. But the second brother also died, and the third brother married her. This continued with all seven of them. Last of all, the woman also died. So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her.” Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God. For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”
Matthew 22:24-30

As Jesus told us then, the earthly union of marriage between a man and a woman, which, by the way, the Bible limits to ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN, ends with death.  In fact, two things are of note here:

1) Marriage vows explicitly say “…till death do us part.”

2) The Bible literally mentions men being married to “one wife” several places – see 1st Timothy 3:2, 1st Timothy 3:12, and Titus 1:6.

Jesus’ answer tells us something important:  there will be neither marriage nor procreation (producing children) in Heaven.  How can I determine from that statement that there will be no procreation?  It’s easy – God (of the Bible) gave us the sexual manner of procreation and limited it to the confines of the marriage.  Those who respect the law of God and limit such actions to the confines of the marriage will understand that, once the marriage no longer exists, so neither does the act of sexual relations exist.  Those who regularly take the act outside of the marriage anyway, well…another story altogether.

Notice also the last verse in the above Scripture reference – Jesus compares those who are raised from the dead (the resurrection) to the angels when addressing the notion of marriage and sex.  He is also quoted very similarly in Mark:

“For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”
Mark 12:25

So why does all of this go away?  Again, the answer is simple.  Those who place their faith and lives into the care of Messiah during this life will live with Him forever!  There will be no more death!  Literally – the death rate will drop in Heaven from 10 out of 10 to zero out of 10!  That should make you feel all warm and fuzzy!

Sex was created by God to for the male and female to come together as “one flesh” (Genesis 2:24) in a covenant marriage relationship exemplary of that of Jesus Christ (of the Bible) and His Bride.  This is, quite frankly, the most intimate relationship possible.  It is also one of the most enjoyable relationships between a man and woman and that is by design, but it isn’t designed to last because there is something even better.  When we get to heaven, there will be no greater joy for us to experience than what we will experience simply by being in the presence of God!  What a day that will be!

Think again about the video you just watched.  Think about the women this guy is speaking of – how much more disrespectful toward those women can he possible be?  He talks about them as though they are NOTHING MORE than sex objects existing to please the men (now that I think about it, why should he think any differently?  This is exactly how Islam views women right now even while we’re all still alive!).  But Jesus (of the Bible) doesn’t give ear to his kind of evil thinking.  He doesn’t view women as sex objects for men.  In fact, He views us all as one right now, even before our deaths.  Paul, speaking about us right now, says::

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28

If you’re in Jesus Christ (of the Bible), if you have placed your faith in Him as Lord and Savior, then He already views you as simply, His.  There is no objectification in Him.  What the guy in this video is teaching is simply not of God of the Bible.  It is false teaching as we know that there is no God beside Him (Deuteronomy 4:39) and nothing like this vile message has even been uttered by Him.  No, my friends, this is not for believers of the Truth.  Husbands, love your wives!  Treat them as Jesus (of the Bible) treats the church and respect them.  And don’t look to Islam or the Quran for how you are to think about women, especially in the afterlife, because…

Jesus is NOT in the Quran!
